Violante Guerrieri Gonzaga lives in a historical family residence Palazzo Taverna, in the heart of Rome. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a painter and photographer. With an innate sense of beauty and a deep passion for color, creativity, and the art of hospitality, she successfully launched the unique experience known as “Vio’s Cooking”—a refined blend of cuisine, aesthetics, and conviviality, which has welcomed distinguished guests, worldwide known celebrities. Collaborated with renowned brands and associations over the years.
Violante learned her culinary skills through top institutions such as Le Cordon Bleu, Gambero Rosso, and A Tavola con lo Chef. A passionate traveler, she draws inspiration from global cuisines—from French to Thai and Chinese—while always remaining rooted in the excellence of Italian cuisine.
Each of her dishes is paired with carefully selected wines, including the celebrated San Leonardo, one of Italy’s finest wines, produced by her own family and internationally recognized with numerous awards. Her menus are the result of dedicated research into ancient family recipes, passed down through generations, and reflect the richness and diversity of Italian regional traditions. She favors fresh, authentic ingredients and loves to create her own original, sophisticated recipes, many of which are featured in her acclaimed book, “Vio’s Cooking, an Italian Lifestyle.”
She launched an exclusive online shop together with her daughter Lavinia Boncompagni Ludovisi, showcasing her signature tableware collections, all exclusively designed by her: vioscooking.com/shop.
Carrying on this family tradition, her daughter Lavinia Boncompagni now brings the spirit of Vio’s Cooking to London, where she curates bespoke events and private experiences inspired by Italian taste, elegance, and lifestyle. With passion and flair, Lavinia crafts unique moments that blend hospitality, food design, and creativity with a modern, international twist.
